HBO’s “Euphoria” Star Zendaya is gearing up to debut one of her most adult roles ever and we’re happy she’s getting to explore more outside of television!!
Written by Justin Kuritzkes and directed by Guadagnino, Challengers is part sports film, part comedy, part romantic drama. Here’s the plot summary: “Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court.
Zendaya describes ‘CHALLENGERS’ as “fun, s*xy and modern with an intense back-and-forth” that includes “a messy, complicated love triangle with a killer score.”

“Tennis player turned coach Tashi (Zendaya) has taken her husband, Art (Mike Faist), and transformed him into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a “Challenger” event — close to the lowest level of pro tournament — where he finds himself standing across the net from his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor).”
Challengers is set to hit theaters on September 15, 2023, where it is opening against Kenneth Branagh‘s latest Hercule Peroit film A Haunting in Venice.
Justin Kuritzkes wrote the screenplay for the film, which is being produced by Amy Pascal, Guadagnino, Zendaya and Rachel O’Connor. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross did the music.
